Betfred League One Round Up | Round 20

In Round 20 of Betfred League One, North Wales Crusaders moved to within touching distance of finishing in first place with their big home win over Goole Vikings.

The Crusaders ran in five tries against their opponents and now have the chance to wrap up the league title next weekend when they welcome Keighley to Colwyn Bay.

Then, Swinton survived a late Rochdale scare live on The Sportsman - in a game which was dedicated to former Super League player Micky Higham following his cancer diagnosis. Higham’s son, Harry Higham, represents Swinton.

The Lions were 12-0 up at half-time, but the Hornets fought their way back into the game. Frank Sergent’s try and Reece Briers’ penalty goal, however, proved to be the difference for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Keighley delivered a fatal blow to Midlands’ top four chances after pipping a win at the Alexander Stadium.

It was a tale of two halves as the Cougars led 4-22 at the break thanks to tries from Brad England, Lachlan Lanskey and Connor Saynor.

Midlands did muster up a comeback, but Matty Beharrell's crucial penalty goal eventually separated the two sides.

In the fourth and final game, Whitehaven won away at Newcastle.
